CreBS (Create Background Slideshow) is a small GUI tool to create a slideshow wallpaper in Ubuntu. The image set defined is stored along with your ordinary wallpapers so it can be reselected in the future from the standard Appearance Preferences window.
Install CreBS in Ubuntu
Run following commands in the terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:crebs/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install crebs
How to Create a Wallpaper Slideshow in Ubuntu
Start by adding images to the slideshow, you can also drag and drop your wallpapers to change their order. You can change the set the own specific duration and transition time for the slideshow or individual images. Now apply the settings.
Now give the slideshow a name and press Save to set the image sequence as your new desktop background. You can also use the standard Appearance Preferences window to change and restore the wallpaper in the future.
